Joseph Viles
Associate Professor

Dr. Viles, Associate Professor, received his B.A. in Biology in 1965 from William Marsh Rice University (Texas), and his M.S. and Ph.D in Biology from Tulane University (Louisiana) in 1968 and 1969, respectively. He served as a Teaching Assistant and NSF and NIH Fellowships at Tulane University before joining the faculty at Iowa State University as an Assistant Professor in 1969. From 1970 to 1982, Dr. Viles served as Director of the ISU Zoology Electron Microscopy Laboratory, and served terms as President and Treasurer of the Iowa Microbeam Society. In addition to teaching commitments, he serves on departmental and university committees.
