Barbara A Krumhardt
Lecturer

Dr. Krumhardt, Lecturer, received her B.S. in Biology (Chemistry minor) and her Ph.D. from Iowa State University, and her Medical Technologist (ASCP) from the Mercy Hospital Medical Center School of Medical Laboratory Technology. Dr. Krumhardt was a Biology instructor and Science Group Leader at the Urban Campus of the Des Moines Area Community College, Des Moines, prior to coming to ISU. In 2003, she joined the faculty at Iowa State as a lecturer. Presently, she teaches the Fundamentals of Anatomy and Physiology classes, Biol 255 and 256, and coordinates the corresponding labs, Biol 255L and 256L. Dr. Krumhardt received a LASCAC grant for upgrading the computers and data-collection equipment in the anatomy and physiology labs. She is developing labs using this new equipment with the students in the classes as their own experimental subjects. Students are applying lecture concepts to measures of their own physiology. When these experiments have been classroom-tested, publication of a physiology lab manual is expected. Dr. Krumhardt serves as the advisor for the ISU Vietnamese Student Association. She enjoys working with this energetic group.
