The ISU Foundation has announced that GDCB Assistant Professor Maura McGrail has been awarded a $375,000 grant from the Roy J. Carver Charitable Trust to support cancer research.  Dr. McGrail and her research team are investigating the genetic causes of brain cancer using zebrafish as a model system.  The goal of Dr. McGrail’s research is to identify changes in the genome that allow unregulated growth of cancer cells, information that is a necessary step to developing new therapies to treat malignant disease.  Foundation News Release
