CELT Spring Semester TA Seminar

The Center for Excellence in Learning and Teaching is hosting CELT's Spring Teaching Assistant (TA) Seminar on Friday, Jan. 10, from 9 to 11 a.m. in 2030 Morrill Hall. Karen Bovenmyer, CELT program coordinator, is facilitating the seminar. 

The seminar is for anyone who is new to teaching (or curious about various best practices in Iowa State University classrooms) is welcome to attend. All TAs who are new to the ISU classroom, or who have received a teaching assignment different from what they have done before, are strongly encouraged to attend this seminar. Discussion will focus on topics such as classroom management, effective grading, and preparing for the first day of class. Ideas for specific types of teaching, time management, and working with students will also be shared.

Additionally, TAs are encouraged to enroll and participate in the CELT Teaching Resources (TA Cohort) [Year Round Training] on the Learning Management System prior to the TA Seminar.
