Genetics, Development and Cell Biology Associate Professor Maura McGrail received an Exemplary Faculty Mentor Award from the Office of the Senior Vice President and Provost in the spring.

McGrail was one of 19 Iowa State University faculty recognized for the award on May 2. The award recognizes faculty mentors who go above and beyond the formal expectations of Iowa State’s mentoring program. Winners are nominated by their “mentees” for the positive impact they have made in their lives and careers.

“I am very grateful to receive this recognition from my colleagues and the Provost’s Office. It is an honor to be chosen a recipient of this award,” McGrail said.

McGrail is chair of the Molecular, Cellular and Developmental Biology Graduate Program.
