The Faculty of 1000, which recommends the best research articles in biology and medicine from a faculty of global experts, recognized a recent article in Plant Physiology by Dr. Gibum Yi and Prof. Phil Becraft. Dr. Yi is a former plant biology graduate student in Prof. Becraft’s lab and is currently a researcher at the Plant Genomics and Breeding Institute in Seoul, Korea.
The article describes their research showing a duplicated pair of transcription factors control cell patterning and cell differentiation in maize endosperm development. The other authors of the article are Anjanasree K. Neelakandan and Bryan C. Gontarek, also members of Prof. Becraft’s lab, and Erik Vollbrecht.
