The late Professor Knaphus

The departments of GDCB and EEOB, with financial support from the Knaphus family, jointly offer a summer teaching fellowship commemorating Dr. George Knaphus. Dr. Knaphus, a professor of botany and plant pathology at Iowa State University, inspired many students and faculty members during his 36-year career at Iowa State and was one of our finest-ever biology teachers.  The intent of this fellowship is to aid in the development of excellent college biology teachers by providing an in-depth mentored teaching experience at the college level.
