A celebration of Marty Spalding‘s retirement as professor of GDCB and as associate dean of the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences was held on Monday, March 28, 2016 from 2:00-4:00 pm in the Campanile Room at the Memorial Union.  Amy Juhnke, Director of Communications for LAS, posted photos of the reception on their Facebook page.

Those unable to attend who wanted to share their well-wishes tweeted them using #MartyISU.  The tweets will be compiled for Marty to view at las.iastate.edu/marty.

Dr.  Spalding joined Iowa State University in 1984 as an Assistant Professor. He served as chair of the Interdepartmental Plant Physiology program at ISU from 1992 until 2000. In July 2003, he assumed the position of Chair of the GDCB Department. In July 2011, he became Interim Associate Dean for Research and Graduate Studies in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences and on January 1, 2013, formally accepted the position of Associate Dean.  Dr. Spalding is looking forward to the next chapter in his life as he retires from ISU.
