Donald Sage Robertson, professor emeritus of genetics, development and cell biology at Iowa State University, died on Dec. 24, 2016, in Story City. Robertson, 95, was formerly of Ames. Services were held on Jan. 8 at 3 p.m. at Christ Community Church in Ames.

He was born on June 27, 1921, in Oakland, Calif. He received his A.B. in 1947 from Stanford University and his doctorate from the California Institute of Technology in 1951. He was a member of the Genetics Society of America; and Sigma Xi, The Scientific Research Society. He received the Governor’s Science Award in 1984.

Robertson retired from Iowa State University in 1991.
