Laura Schultz, a genetics, development and cell biology alumna who graduated in spring 2018, is featured in a recent "First person author" article in Disease Models and Mechanisms. While at Iowa State, Schultz was a Ph.D. student in GDCB Associate Professor Maura McGrail's lab. Currently, Schultz is a postdoctoral fellow at the Center for Individualized Medicine at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minn.

For a closer look at Schultz's research, read the "First person" article on her and read her article, "Epigenetic regulators Rbbp4 and Hdac1 are overexpressed in a zebrafish model of RB1 embryonal brain tumor, and are required for neural progenitor survival and proliferation," in Disease Models and Mechanisms.
