Karri Haen Whitmer, associate teaching professor in genetics, development and cell biology, received the Iowa State University College of Agriculture and Life Sciences' Excellence in Teaching by Lecturers and Adjunct Faculty Award earlier this year. Since 2001, she has taught more than 8,000 students in large foundational courses in anatomy and physiology.
