Huang receives American Heart Association Predoctoral Fellowship
Kerui Huang, a genetics, development and cell biology student in Dr. Hua Bai’s Lab, is the recipient of a one-year 2020 American Heart Association Predoctoral Fellowship. The $31,016 award began on Jan. 1 for the project, “The non-autonomous role of hepatic peroxisomal import in cardiac aging.”
AHA information states the predoctoral fellowship program’s purpose is “to enhance the integrated research and clinical training of promising students who are matriculated in pre-doctoral or clinical health professional degree training programs and who intend careers as scientists, physician-scientists or other clinician-scientists, or related careers aimed at improving global cardiovascular, cerebrovascular and brain health.”
Huang is majoring in genetics and genomics.
