Jeff Essner, professor in genetics, development and cell biology (GDCB), received an Exemplary Faculty Mentor Award from the Office of the Senior Vice President and Provost in 2020.

According to Office of the Senior Vice President and Provost information, the award recognizes “mentors who go above and beyond the formal expectations of Iowa State’s mentoring program. Winners are nominated by their ‘mentee’ for the positive impact they have made in their lives and careers.”

About receiving the award, Essner said, “I am very lucky and honored to work with such wonderful junior colleagues.”
