The Department of Genetics, Development and Cell Biology (GDCB) announces that a member of its staff, Danise Jones, received an Iowa State University Professional and Scientific Council CYtation award for her performance as a graduate student services specialist. 

In addition to her efforts assisting graduate students, Jones makes a major contribution to the GDCB communications and outreach program through its departmental newsletter, BioCY News, as social media liaison, and more. She also handles other administrative responsibilities.

According to P&S Council information, CYtation recipients "must be nominated for performing above and beyond the call of duty, doing something extraordinarily well, and acting in such a way as to make a very real difference in the institution." 

GDCB Professor and Communications Committee Chair Eric Henderson said, ”We are extremely gratified that someone of Danise’s caliber has been recognized for her outstanding work on behalf of GDCB! Congratulations Danise!”
