Duchman receives 2024 Outstanding Alumni Award from GDCB

Dr. Stan Duchman, ’87 biology, of Houston, Texas, received the 2024 Outstanding Alumni Award from the Department of Genetics, Development and Cell Biology (GDCB). GDCB recognized Duchman at the Iowa State University College of Liberal Arts and Sciences Honors and Awards Ceremony on Oct. 31.

Duchman is a practicing cardiologist in Houston, where he is a clinical professor at Weill Cornell Medical College and the DeBakey Heart and Vascular Institute at Houston Methodist Hospital. 

Duchman completed fellowships in heart failure/transplant and interventional cardiology with an emphasis in both teaching and patient care. He has served on medical boards for the state of Texas.
