GDCB Graduate Student Postdoc Organization plays instrumental role

The Department of Genetics, Development and Cell Biology Graduate Student and Postdoc Organization (GSPO) plays an instrumental role in organizing several important departmental activities such as the monthly breakfast, graduate student/postdoc/staff seminar series, inviting/hosting seminar speakers, picnics, and outreach. This year six representatives have been selected for the GDCB GSPO.
President (Ankur Kumar) — Presides at all meetings of the organization, calls special meetings of the organization, schedules all activities of the organization, and obtains appropriate facilities for organization activities.
Treasurer (Jacinta Correia) — Keeps all financial records of the organization, pays organization bills, prepares an annual budget, prepares all budget requests for funds, and coordinates fund-raising drives.
GDCB Communications Team representative (Anh Pham) — The representative will work with the GDCB Communications Team, and the representative will manage all external communications for the GSPO. The representative drafts periodic reports and enters social media posts to improve GSO accessibility and transparency.
Social Committee Chair (Abbigail McCune) — The Social Committee chair will organize a small team to plan and organize social events in an efficient and cost-effective way across the department to promote connectivity between the graduate students, postdocs and other members of the department. Min Jung Kwon is a representative of the Social Committee.
GDCB Seminar Committee representative (Anurag Das) — Works alongside other members of the Seminar Committee in overseeing the smooth running of the GDCB Seminar series as well as inviting and coordinating with potential speakers.
GDCB Graduate and Professional Student Senate (Lander Geadelmann [senator]) — Works as the intermediary between GDCB GSPO and GPSS to facilitate the exchange of information and coordination between the two committees. Look out for possibilities for getting funding from other sources, such as GPSS.
