Several undergraduate biology, genetics and biochemistry students mentored by Department of Genetics, Development and Cell Biology faculty are among 19 College of Liberal Arts and Sciences students completing undergraduate work in fall 2024 as recipients of the LAS Dean's High Impact Award for Undergraduate Research.
GDCB faculty mentoring the LAS recipients include Morrill Professor Don Sakaguchi, GDCB Professor Jeff Essner, GDCB Associate Professor Hua Bai and GDCB Adjunct Assistant Professor Ping Kang. Sakaguchi mentors Liya Mooradian. Students Kang mentors Isabelle Appel, Kyler Hegarty, Elizabeth Larkin and Emily Wermager. Essner mentors Mackenzie Thackery and Amanda Zumbrock. Bai mentors Chad Martin and Raegan Nelson.
