Iowa State University (ISU) alumnus Josh Strable returned to campus in January 2025 when he joined the Department of Genetics, Development and Cell Biology (GDCB) as an assistant professor. His area of expertise is development and genome dynamics.
Strable received a bachelor of science and a master of science in biological sciences from the University of Iowa. He received his Ph.D. in plant biology from GDCB at ISU. After his graduation, Strable served as a National Science Foundation Postdoctoral Fellow in the Plant Biology Section of the School of Integrative Plant Science at Cornell University.
Before joining GDCB as an assistant professor, Strable served as an assistant professor in the Department of Molecular and Structural Biochemistry at North Carolina State University from January 2021 to December 2024.
