World Food Prize names Kelley mentee 2025 Lambert 'Hunger Fighter' scholar

A mentee of Genetics, Development and Cell Biology Associate Professor Dior Kelley, Ella McGrath, received World Food Prize honors as she was named the 2025 Lambert "Hunger Fighter" Scholar. She was presented the award by Seed Science Center Professor Emeritus Dr. Manjit Misra.

McGrath conducted research on auxin pathway genes in maize seedling development. She was recognized for her unwavering commitment to fighting hunger through science, empathy and action. 

McGrath is a horticulture and global resource systems major in Iowa State University's College of Agriculture and Life Sciences.
