  • CALS Council Senior Awardee: Lawson receives Academic Achievement Award

    Undergraduate Maia Lawson, who is double majoring in microbiology and genetics, received the fall 2021 Academic Achievement Award from the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences Student Council.

  • The Department of Genetics, Development and Cell Biology (GDCB) announces the Spring 2022 GDCB Graduate Student-Postdoc-Staff Seminar Series. The seminar is held online on Fridays at 4:10 p.m. Ephraim Aliu, a graduate student in the Department of Agronomy’s Wang Lab, will present the first seminar in the spring series, “CRISPR RNA-guided Integrase system for Agrobacterium genome editing,” on Friday, Feb. 4, at 4:10 p.m.

  • The Department of Genetics, Development and Cell Biology announces its Spring 2022 Seminar Series. Flyers with more information about the speakers, titles and abstracts will be distributed weekly.

     

     

  • Genetics, Development and Cell Biology (GDCB) graduate student Abesh Bera was named a runner-up in the Graduate College’s Sixth Annual Three Minute Thesis (3MT) Competition held in late October. “Remote Spatial Coordination within Cytoskeleton Regulates Timing of Cell Division” is the title of his 3MT presentation.

  • David Morrison, a highly successful researcher and policy analyst, who is currently a foreign service officer with the U.S. Department of State, will receive the Distinguished Alumni Award from the Department of Genetics, Development and Cell Biology (GDCB) at a ceremony on Thursday, October 21, 2021, in Ames. The award recognizes outstanding alumni from the Department of Genetics, Development and Cell Biology in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences at Iowa State.
