Department of Genetics, Development and Cell Biology affiliate faculty member and collaborator Taner Z. Sen was invited and accepted to be a member of the International Wheat Information System (WheatIS) Expert Working Group. Sen is also a lead scientist with the U.S. Department of Agriculture, Agricultural Research Service.

The purpose of WheatIS is to build an International Wheat Information System to support the wheat research community. The main objective is to provide a single-access web base system to access available data resources and bioinformatics tools.
